Board Room: Motivation

Wow... So here I am I never thought this day would come. Just my mind, my desk, and my laptop. So let's see what type of trouble I can get into. For months now I have been working on coming up with a concept for my blog. As my closets friends can attest I have a lot to say, and I now plan to share it with you. I'm a rookie to this blog phenomenon, but I hope to provide you with some joy, knowledge, and understanding from a different point of view that you might not have experienced before. I promise with your help and a little time this will only get better.

**My own "Personal Disclaimer" to you: I will never speak on something that I have no knowledge of, or have not lived myself.**

Board Room Meeting #1... Motivation!

As the new year and decade is now here. There are a lot of things that stand out to me and draw my attention, and we will discuss those in due time. But for now I want to talk about...YOU! That's right you! You're probably thinking "Yeah right, this dude is crazy!" I figured that you would say that, so I will start this dialogue off now by talking about me.

How are you motivated? And when I say that I mean, what gets you going? What puts your mind in constant motion leaving your body with no choice but to react?

What motivates me is my past. I never want to go back to what I was or what I have experienced negatively in my life, so I work hard never to go back to where I once was. I like to think that your past is your study guide to your next success. You have two choices when it comes to your past. 1) You can take your past mistakes(your fault or not) and build on them. Analyze the problem, identify numerous solutions to the problem, and properly equip yourself with the necessary information so that when the same problem or issue arises you are prepared for it. 2) You can put your head in your hands and let the problem run wild on your psyche (if you complain long enough I will play a violin for you in the background)and just take it and wait for it to pass. Knowing that you are an intelligent reader, I'm more than positive that you would always choose the first option, embrace your problem for what it is and better yourself.

"Can't Do's" and challenges never fail to motivate me. In case you do not know what a "Can't Do" is I will explain briefly for you. A "Can't Do," is when your boss, family, friend, stranger, or significant other has the audacity to tell you that you can't do something. An example would be if I wanted to (which I don't by the way) fly to the moon and be the first man to play an ipod nano on the moon, and you laughed at my goal and said that "I can't." Well you better believe before I leave this Earth, that not only will I reach the moon but I will do it in style. I will find all the necessary resources to obtain the most updated space shuttle and arrive on the moon with paparazzi (preferably TMZ) to document this moment as proof to show you that I proved you wrong. And to make you feel even worse, I would contact my good friend Steve (you know him as Steve Jobs) to provide me with the unreleased 1100 GB ipod touch w/ all the top notch apps and James Bond gadgets on it. OK I know that example was out there! However, it proves my point; challenge or bestow a "Can't Do" upon me; well you better believe I'm going to do what I can to prove you wrong, especially if its something that I really want to do.

I could go on forever with a list of things that motivate me, but I was able to condense my list. What you just read is the secret formula, the common denominator in all of my accomplishments and successes. I have been able to analyze myself to figure out what are my motivational triggers.

Recap:

1) Using my past as a study guide. Embracing my previous misfortunes, and preparing for the future to avoid running into the same bump in the road.

2) "Can't Do's" & Challenges. Never give the man next to the power to dictate what you can or cannot do.

So what gets you going, what motivates you?

This Board Room Meeting is now open for discussion.

Don't just think about it, Speak about it...
